Shari Dingle Sandifer, RN, MBA, Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Sandifer founded Avant Healthcare Professionals in 2003.   Avant is a healthcare staffing company focused on international recruitment and recognized for its innovative clinical programs offered to foreign educated therapy and nursing professionals, as well as client facilities.   Avant was a founding member of the American Association of International Healthcare Recruitment and Ms. Sandifer is the current Vice President and Board member.   Through the AAIHR she actively lobbies Congress for immigration reform to allow a consistent flow of highly skilled healthcare professionals.

Ms. Sandifer is recognized as an industry thought leader in the niche of international recruitment.   She presented at the Staffing Industry Analysts annual Healthcare Staffing Summit in 2007, 2008 and 2009.   She was a member of the AcademyHealth Stakeholders Transitioning Committee on Ethical Nurse Recruitment and is an author of the Code of Ethical Conduct for the Recruitment of Foreign Educated Nurses that was released in 2008.   She presented at the International Council of Nurses Quadrennial Congress on the Code as a “Collaborative Model for Moving Forward”.  As a member of the Advisory Council for Policy for Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) she authored the Honor Society’s policies on Nurse Migration and Diversity in 2005.    She is a member of the Women Impacting Political Policy, American Nursing Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives and STTI. Ms. Sandifer is a Board Member of Orlando, Inc. and serves as a mentor for the Rollins College Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship and Startup Florida.

Lesley Hamilton, Senior Vice President of Operations
Ms. Hamilton brings extensive international recruitment experienced to Avant Healthcare Professionals. Her international nursing career began in 1989 when she graduated in New Zealand and worked in Oncology before moving to Memphis, TN as an RN for her first US experience. Ms. Hamilton, also worked in the UK for several years before moving into International Recruitment. Prior to joining Avant in February 2006, Ms. Hamilton worked for the major players on the International recruitment scene including O'Grady Peyton International, Assignment America (international division of Cross Country TravCorps), Geneva Health International (New Zealand). She has a passion for the US recruitment business borne out of her own nursing experience gained in the USA in the early stages of her nursing career. Ms. Hamilton has worked as a nurse in three different countries so offers a unique and valuable perspective to Avant's recruitment and clinical programs. Her international recruitment experience spans many countries, successfully recruiting for Canada and the Middle East, as well as the USA.

While at Avant Ms. Hamilton has risen through the company to now lead the recruitment, immigration and licensure processing, exam preparation, quality compliance, clinical programs, transition and ongoing support of all healthcare professionals with the company.

Doreen Noriega, Director of Transitions
As one of the pioneer employees with Avant, Doreen has been with Avant since 2004. During this time she has developed her career in International Recruitment. She has worked in most areas with Avant from Screening and Selection, NCLEX Program, Licensing and Visa Department, HR and now in her role as Director of Transitions all the knowledge she has gained comes together as she is responsible for transitioning our Healthcare Professionals to their assignment locations and assisting them as they adjust to their new life in the US. This is a critical role to the success of the Avant program and our healthcare professionals. Doreen received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.

Spencer D. Lloyd, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lloyd has extensive experience with high-growth, venture capital-funded companies. Prior to joining Avant Healthcare Professionals in March 2010, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Fleetgistics, a $100M third party Logistics Company based in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Lloyd also served as Chief Financial Officer of ForHealth Technologies, an early-stage medical device company, Highlander Engineering, a developer of software tools for embedded device manufacturers, and BrainBuzz.com, a Tampa-based career portal that served information technology professionals. He is a CPA and spent over twelve years with Ernst & Young in various financial and information systems audit capacities, most recently heading E&Y's Information Systems audit practice for Florida. Mr. Lloyd has a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida.

 

Holly Musselwhite, Director of Clinical Services
Ms. Musselwhite joined Avant Healthcare Professionals in 2007 with a strong clinical background in nursing from her tenure at Florida Hospital. Her contribution to the NCLEX preparation program and the clinical transition program has been extensive. Drawing on her years of clinical experience she fine-tuned the clinical transition program for foreign educated nurses. The program changes have translated into quicker and smoother transitions to the clinical environment for Avant nurses. With the addition of the physical and occupational therapist staffing lines, Ms. Musselwhite built the national exam review programs as well as a comprehensive clinical transition program. She established a network of therapy consultants and clinical sites to support the clinical programs.

Ms. Musselwhite's love for teaching and commitment to providing quality patient-centered care has resulted in superior clinical programs that continue to evolve to the benefit of Avant healthcare professionals and clients. She completed her BSN at Florida Hospital College in 2002. Ms. Musselwhite graduated from Southern Adventist University with a Master in Business Administration in 2011.
